No kitten milk? Can I feed human formula to a 1-2 month old kitten?

If the kitten is 1-2 months old than she should be able to eat some regular cat food, especially if you get wet food and add some water to it. Human baby formula is not ideal but if you can't get kitten milk replacer and she is not eating solid food than you could give her some. It would be best to use a kitten formula or just regular cat food. Most kittens than are 2 months old are ready to be weaned from their mothers.

Please provide a little more information about the kitten such as age and size? Kittens begin weaning at 4 weeks old and thus they don't need formula. Since you have financial constraints, you may want to look into a local rescue (if available). Kittens require a lot of care their first year (vaccines, anti-parasitics and being sterilized). How much she needs to eat depends on the kitten formula that you use. There will be instructions on the packaging for her daily needed amount based on her weight, and you divide that amount into how many times per day you feed her. I would recommend that she stay on solely kitten milk replacer until 4 weeks of age, when you can start to introduce her to kitten food mixed with milk replacer. If she doesn't eat the full amount that she should from a pet bottle, you can have a vet show you how to tube feed her. Her large belly may be full of food, but it could also be full of worms. I would recommend that you deworm her when she is 2 weeks old.

Hello, and thank you for your question. Misu is an adorable name! At almost 2 months of age, your kitten should not need kitten formula, especially if she is eating regular food. When they are kitten (up to 10-12 months in fact) I recommend free feeding. This should include a combination of wet food (twice a day) and dry food, left out. Kittens have very a very high metabloism and need to have food and fresh water readily available. I hope this helps!
