My cat won't eat or drink after a traumatic event. Is she injured?

I'm sorry that Murphy isn't feeling well! The limping can be caused by trauma or a fracture, arthritis, a joint infection, or an issue with ligaments/tendons (soft tissues). Murphy should be seen by a vet as soon as possible as x-rays are likely to be warranted to rule out any fractures and receive appropriate pain medication. Most towns/cities have an emergency veterinary clinic that is open 24 hours a day, so that may be necessary for Murphy. I hope this helps and that all is well!

That's because many are toxic to cats, and are fatal if given. In order to treat him correctly, he has to be diagnose by a vet, and there truly isn't anything you can do for him at home. Attempting to self treat him without knowing the cause of his symptoms is never recommended, as you may accidentally do harm to him. I would see if you can find a friend to drive you into a vet now. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. Oh dear, poor Meow! Since she is not moving, eating or drinking, my main concern is that she has experienced significant trauma in her travels, either from a long fall or being hit by a car. These traumatic events can cause major head trauma, rib fractures, or internal injuries that can be quite severe and painful. At this point, Meow needs to go to an emergency vet immediately for evaluation and treatment. I hope this helps and that all goes well!

I'm sorry that this is happening but she needs to be examined by a vet. You must realize that not all problems can be fixed at home. If she had a "miscarriage" then she could still have some retained tissues in her uterus that is making her sick. That cannot be fixed without a vet. We cannot possibly diagnose her over the internet without an in-person examination and more information (besides the fact that it is illegal). We are only here to offer advice. I know you love your cat and because you do, it is your responsibility to seek medical treatment when she is ill. She is going to continue to get pregnant and possibly have issues unless you get her spayed. I strongly recommend you have her spayed once she is back to feeling better.

Poor kitty! If she is vomiting and not eating or drinking, this is a serious problem - even if the problem began because of stress, she will quickly become dehydrated if this continues. I would recommend having her examined by a vet as soon as you can - he/she can do blood work and x-rays if needed to find out what's wrong and get her started on IV fluids and other supportive care if needed.

Hello, sorry to hear about Candy. She may have gone several days without food and water, and it sounds like she is mentally unaware. She may be severely dehydrated or she could have been attacked by another animal or even hit by a car. Candy needs to be seen immediately by a veterinarian and she will likely need to be hospitalized for emergency care. Poor Ellie! I see that she isn't spayed. When cats aren't spayed, they can be prone to a life threatening infection of the uterus called a pyometra. This would cause her to vomit, not eat, and not drink. Other causes include a severe GI illness, eating something rotten, pancreatitis, or a foreign body. Given the risk of a pyometra and the fact that she isn't eating, drinking, and keeps vomiting, my recommendation is to have Ellie seen by a vet immediately. The vet can do a physical exam, blood tests, a urinalysis, and possibly x-rays to diagnose what is causing her symptoms so she can be treated. She likely needs a shot to stop the vomiting, and IV fluids for hydration along with any other treatment the vet deems necessary. If she does have a pyometra, spaying her is one of the recommended treatments. Please take her into a vet ASAP.
