Why is my cat weak, unbalanced, and peeing after a dog attack?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed

Our cat Venus was found as her vascular access open and we think she was attacked by a dog. Her hind legs are not strong, actually she's lack of balance. She strains while sleeping and urinates unconsciously. She strains only while sleeping and urinates only when she strains.

She must be fully assessed by a vet, likely including spinal/pelvic x-rays to assess the severity of her injuries (including nerve damage) and guide the most appropriate treatment and likely recovery. Please have her seen by a vet urgently
