How scary. I would recommend going to a vet for evaluation and x-rays even though it doesn't seem like she has injuries. Internal bleeding in the abdomen or chest is very common when small animals are attacked by larger animals. She could also be in shock and need some supportive care. If going to an emergency/24hour clinic isn't an option, keep her warm and offer food and water as soon as she'll take them, but know she may be in more danger than is immediately obvious and sadly internal injuries can results in fairly sudden death.

It's hard to say if this is a permanent change or not. The injury that is listed on the paper can be life-threatening. I would recommend strict confinement in a small kennel (like bed-rest for a human) to avoid aggravating the injury. After 4-6 weeks of rest, we will have a better idea if it is a permanent change or not.

These signs unfortunately require an immediate check up to rule out possible rabies infection and make sure the infection has not penetrated deeper in the muscle and bone layers (skull). The signs you described may be neurological. Further oral antibiotics may be needed. I'm really concerned about Des wobbling like she is drunk, as that can be a sign of something serious like getting into something toxic. I don't she can wait until next week to see a vet, I think she should see one now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. I’m sorry to hear about Waffles! I hope by now she is improving. Toads are possible but in the future, I recommend just rinsing her mouth out with water for a few seconds. You don’t mention Waffles age but other possibilities include: trauma, clot/stroke type event, injury/pain, or seizures.
