My kitten's legs aren't moving after a dog attack. What should I do?

While what you describe sounds like there could be some spinal nerve injury, I worry more about more life threatening internal injuries such as perforations, ruptures, etc. I would highly recommend having Gilbert seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible to listen to his lungs, take x-rays, bloodwork, etc. Sometimes the signs of these injuries do not manifest right away, therefore it is very important to catch them before they become worse or potentially fatal. The veterinarian will also be able to do a cursory neurologic examination, check him for other wounds, and give him medication to make him more comfortable. Getting him to an emergency clinic tonight would be ideal and give Gilbert the best chance at a full and speedy recovery.

Unfortunately there's nothing I can recommend at home - this sounds very serious, and Motu may require intensive care and even surgery if there has been a spinal fracture. Most places still have emergency care available even if they are under restrictions to shelter in place - I'd recommend trying to search for an emergency veterinarian near you.

She must be fully assessed by a vet, likely including spinal/pelvic x-rays to assess the severity of her injuries (including nerve damage) and guide the most appropriate treatment and likely recovery. Please have her seen by a vet urgently

You can keep him clean and comfortable and see if the control of his rear legs will return. He may be permanently paralyzed though. I like to support these animals, putting something underneath their stomach if needed, to get them standing with their rear legs underneath in a normal position. If he gets stronger when you have him standing he may improve. Usually they will start to move their legs in a few weeks if they are going to improve. If he remains paralyzed you can purchase or make a cart or wheelchair for him so he can walk around on his own. Given that Lola has had a spinal infection, it could be that the nerves to that leg have been damaged. She may need more time for the leg to return to normal, but I would have her seen by a vet again to have it assessed.

Poor cat! If there is no deep pain present in the back legs then chances are kidding you won't regain function unfortunately. We use the pain is an indicator whether the pet will walk again. However if deep pain is present (kitty moves twitches or flinches when you pinch the back toes), then there is a chance that Katie can regain function of the limbs. However you won't know the extent of the injury without an x-ray. And without an x-ray he won't really know what treatment kitty needs. I unfortunately don't see a good solution here without proper diagnostics. Kittie may be a lost cause at this point without proper medical care for such a traumatic injury like this which undoubtedly involves the spinal cord and/or pelvis. I would highly consider Humane euthanasia for this kittie because the outcome looks bleak.

Hi ! Your kitten needs to see a vet ASAP, to understand if there is a proble with her pelvis or with her back. The longer she is left, the less chance she has to recover sadly.
