My pet is weak and dehydrated. What should I do before the vet?

IV fluids would be better for this situation, as they are absorbed quicker to help her dehydration. I'd take her into a vet immediately. Best of luck.

She is not expected to improve even if she was eating the honey solution necessarily. I highly recommend you consider having her evaluated by a veterinarian. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Tigger! I am concerned too!! How old is Tigger? Possible cause of his white gums are anemia (leukemia, blood loss from fleas, immune mediated disease, not making red blood cells due to bone marrow disease), severe dehydration causing poor blood pressure and shock or hypothermia. Anemia causes weakness and overall sick feeling which causes a poor appetite. His eye may or may not be related. He could have a corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, or uveitis. Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. A kitten this young & dehydrated needs to be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. She may need supplemental fluids, either give intravenously or under the skin. Then, we need to know why Acil has become dehydrated. Is she sick with an infection, was there any trauma, or does she have a large intestinal parasite burden? If she is eating, you can give her any food that has a high moisture content ( ie canned ), but if she is already dehydrated, it is difficult to remedy this just depending on what she eats on her own. I can't make much out from the pictures you've provided. However, I can tell you that if Tigger has multiples ticks on him and is showing signs of neurologic deficits, he should be seen by a veterinarian. There are certain tick borne diseases capable of causing clinical signs consistent with what you are describing. If you are able to get a more clear picture of the bug that is attached to Tigger, I might be able to better help with a diagnosis. If he is not drinking water either, depending on how long this has gone on for, it can cause dehydration fairly quickly. You might also try to obtain a temperature of Tigger at home rectally. Check to see if it is elevated above 102.5-103.0. If so, a fever in combination with the other symptoms certainly warrants some concern.

If you are that concerned maybe there is a local emergency hospital you can bring him too and have him seen immediately. If not, then try gently syringing water and canned food as a slurry.
