My cat throws up weekly despite Prednisolone. Does she need a vet?

Yes she should. Low fat diet ideally should be provided as a regular diet. Unless she is still on steroids, which could cause vomiting, It sounds as Mia is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

Vomiting can occur from many conditions such as kidney disease, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have Peaches evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This will likely require bloodwork and abdominal imaging in terms of diagnostics. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least your veterinarian could start him on medications to make him feel better. With Sasha's age and the consistent vomiting, I am concerned that she may have something systemic going on. Quite commonly I see kidney disease in older cats and this can cause consistent vomiting. There are also other conditions such as GI inflammatory disease that can lead to persistent vomiting like you are seeing. My best recommendation would be to have a veterinarian examine Sasha and have her blood tested to start with. This will help rule out multiple potential causes of what you are seeing. I would talk to your vet about submitting a GI panel or performing biopsies. Even with normal ultrasounds, IBD or lymphoma may not be able to be diagnosed. Empirical deworming may be indicated. Steroid trials may help. Has the thyroid level been checked? There is so much more information we need to be able to help you in this complicated case. This can range from something the pet ate, something stuck in the intestine such as a string or other foreign body, metabolic or endocrine diseases, food sensitivities, irritable bowel disease, or even some cancers. It is definitely not normal for Tuna to be vomiting that often. I would recommend a visit to your veterinarian.
