My cat is throwing up daily and drinking more. What should I do?

Hi. There are many possible causes for vomiting from primary GI to secondary GI causes. If blood work or x-rays didn't get us many answers, I would move forward with an ultrasound as that much vomiting isn't normal. I would also recommend asking your veterinarian for a prescription bland diet during this time. Good luck

Vomiting can occur from many conditions such as kidney disease, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have Peaches evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This will likely require bloodwork and abdominal imaging in terms of diagnostics. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least your veterinarian could start him on medications to make him feel better. It's probably something more serious. chronic vomiting can be caused by various conditions (foreign body, pancreatitis, lymphoma, IBD and more...), you will need to take her to the vet in order to get checked and have a blood test done as a first step to try and find out what is causing this.

Hello, sorry to hear about Sammy. He could be having a metabolic disease that is causing both signs. Some of them include hyperthyroidism, diabetes, kidney disease, and UTIs. Your veterinarian may ask to run some bloodwork and get a urinalysis to check for these. Hope this helps!

Poor Sonic! If he's been vomiting every day for a month, a vet visit is definitely warranted as this is not normal. He may have a GI problem such as chronic pancreatitis or a foreign body in his stomach, a systemic illness like hyperthyroidism or chronic kidney disease, or may have an allergy or intolerance to something in his diet. Your veterinarian can do some diagnostic testing if needed to help determine what is causing the vomiting and get him started on appropriate treatment.

It is not normal for a cat to vomit that frequently, so your cat may have inflammatory bowel disease or another type of chronic gastrointestinal disease. Since it has been going on for so, a diet change may not be enough at this point. The ideal situation would be to have your veterinarian do some testing to determine what is causing the vomiting. If that is not an option, then I would discuss treatment options with your veterinarian. There are a number of medications that may be able to resolve the vomiting. Good luck! Vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Turtle evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid he is likely becoming dehydrated. They would be able to check for these possibilities and also check his hydration status and give him medications to make him feel better. Good luck!
