My cat threw up, won't eat, and isn't peeing or pooping. What's wrong?

Poor Clyde sounds so ill! He could have parvovirus, a severe GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, or could have a foreign body. I would consider his symptoms a medical emergency, and he needs to see a vet now. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Cats cannot go more than a few days without eating. They will start by doing a physical exam and will likely recommend lab work to see how her organs are functioning and the status of her red and white blood cells. They may also run a thyroid test to determine if it’s over-active. The vet may need to take radiographs of her abdomen to rule out a foreign object or other abnormalities. Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Vomiting, especially after wanting to eat, is a concern for an obstruction or something stuck in her stomach. I would recommend having her seen by a vet and have an x-ray done. She could just have a gastritis or a sore upset stomach, however not eating for 6 days for a cat is a concern. Your vet may also check Snowball's liver values for a disease called 'fatty liver'. Best of luck with Snowball.

Poor Willie! Given that it appears she has vomited a foreign object (decorative balls from your bedspread) and the face she isn't eating, I would take her into a vet now. It's actually very serious when a cat doesn't eat, as they will develop a fatty liver when they go too long without eating. A fatty liver is fatal without treatment, so that needs to be avoided. She may need x-rays to determine if she has any more of those balls in her GI tract. Please take her into a vet now. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Hello, sorry to hear about Clyde. The crusts could be an indication of nasal and ocular discharge which may be associated with an upper respiratory infection. Signs of an upper respiratory tract infection, in addition to the discharge, includes a decreased appetite, lethargy, and a fever. The hair loss around the belly could be consistent with scratching from allergies or over grooming. Other potential causes such as fleas and ring worm are less likely. You can give Clyde an additional 2-3 days to see how he does, however, if he has been like this for multiple days already, then you should consider seeing your veterinarian to get him evaluated. Poor Splash! This vomiting could be caused by a GI illness, eating something rotten, a foreign body, or pancreatitis. Given that he has been vomiting since Friday morning, it's time to see a vet as soon as possible. The vet can diagnose what is causing the vomiting so he can be treated . I would take Splash into a vet now.
