My 11-month-old cat throws up right after eating. What's wrong?

Poor kitty. This sounds very likely they Pickle may have a foreign body obstruction or partial obstruction. Other possibilities are kidney disease, liver disease and an infection. Cats often won't act ill until things are really far gone, so don't expect to see that. The vomiting of food right after eating warrants getting Pickle in to your local vet right away for an exam and diagnostic tests to determine the cause. Once we know what is causing this, then we will know what treatment he needs to fix it.

Vomiting in cats can be caused by primary issues with the gastrointestinal tract, dysfunction of the organs, infection, intolerance to a diet, etc. Either way, this is very concerning and KitKat should be seen by a veterinarian ASAP for examination and potential diagnostics.

Vomiting can occur from many conditions such as kidney disease, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have Peaches evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This will likely require bloodwork and abdominal imaging in terms of diagnostics. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least your veterinarian could start him on medications to make him feel better. I'm sorry to hear that Louie isn't feeling well! Profuse vomiting and a loss of appetite in a young cat are most suspicious for either a foreign body intestinal obstruction, parasites or virus. Due to the likelihood of dehydration with this much vomiting and possible obstruction, I recommend taking Louie to his vet fairly urgently for evaluation. He will likely need abdominal x-rays and may need IV fluids or surgery if foreign material is suspected in his intestines. I hope that all goes well!

That's definitely concerning. Bombay could have something stuck in his intestines, an intestinal parasite, or even a metabolic problem. I would recommend getting him to the clinic this week for an exam and some x-rays to see if they can find a cause. He could also have vomited once because of eating something strange or a virus, and the vomiting itself irritated his stomach so he keeps vomiting - sometime treatment with fluids and an anti-vomiting medication is all that is needed to settle these guys down, but it's important to do testing first to make sure nothing else is going on. But you first have to differentiate whethere whether Coix is vomting (obvious retching and forceful expulsion) or regurgitating (undigested food just seems to come out without much effort). Vomiting can be caused by inflammatory bowel disease, megaesophagus (typically causes regurgitation), a parasitic infection (not as common), or even an underlying congenital disorder. Most of these conditions are treatable. You should first start with some diagnostic testing to gather more information on your specific pets condition. Then we will know what needs to be done for Coix to help control his vomiting episodes a bit better. In general, you can continue to feed smaller portions and go with an easily digestible diet such as limited ingredient diets (i.e. Iams, Purina, Evo). This is something you can easily start while awaiting a proper vet visit and diagnostic work-up for Coix. It sounds as your pet is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking Guinness to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.
