Can I give my vomiting, dehydrated cat on IV fluids food or broth?

I think the cat is sick to be causing the dehydration, so I don't think simply rehydrating it will be the answer. It could have a bacterial or viral infection, kidney failure, etc. I would recommend having the cat examined by a vet to determine what is going on to be causing the intense nausea.

Poor Vriska! Did they have her on fluids at the vet? If not she may end up needing them unfortunately. Usually food poisoning will settle with time, but it can make them very dull a nd dehydrated. Hopefully she will not vomit now as she was seen last night. You can try and keep her hydrated at home to support her whilst she heals. However if she gets dehydrated she will likely need that drip. You can slowly syringe water into to her, it would be best with electrolyte solution added such as royal canin rehydration support. To be honest I wouldnt feed her at the moment as it will likely make her worse. Give her a rest day off food then feed feed her plain chicken and rice. If she is going downhill you will have to take her back in unfortunately.

Please feed your cat again. Cats do not do well with out food for more than 12 hours. You can also worm your cat. Feed her some boiled boneless chicken and then slowly mix on her normal commercial cat food again. I am assuming you are in India.

This depends on the type of fluids he is receiving, it is possible to provide intravenous nutrition but this is often very expensive. Tube feeding is often used if not eating voluntarily or if vomiting is severe. I recommend you chat about this with your primary treating vet

Poor little one, I would recommend that he has fluids intravenously and medications through the drip until he starts to eat.. then you can start oral medications. If he is dehydrated already, as time goes by without eating, he will be getting worse. Hope you can have him rechecked and that something a little more intensive can be done for him. Destiny may be dehydrated from the vomiting. If the veterinarian did not administer fluids under the skin already, I would recommend calling the vet back and seeing if this is something that can be done or if it is something that needs to be done. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Poutcha. His blood work appears fairly unremarkable. His blood sugar is a bit high, but his fructosamine level is normal. Is he diabetic or was this just a screening test? Since he is not improving, I recommend a urine sample be tested and bloodwork for pancreatitis. X-rays of his chest to look for cancer are always a good idea as well. Based on these results, additional bloodwork or even an abdominal ultrasound by a radiologist might be warranted.
