My cat is still vomiting and weak after vet visit, what should I do?

If she hasn’t had a broad spectrum deworming done , then I would request that. There is a parasite called Physaloptera that causes vomiting in cats and is very hard to diagnose, so I usually do a trial of the dewormer to see if it resolve. She could have a parasite, infection, or an upset stomach from something she ate. The fact that she is weak is concerning and she should be examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat. Your vet can test a stool sample for parasites and then prescribe medications. She might also need fluids to prevent dehydration.

If he was recently at the vet for vomiting, and now is not eating or drinking anything, he should be seen again as this would make me concerned about the possibility of a foreign body, or pancreatitis, which would require additional therapy. If your vet didn't do x-rays or bloodwork at the previous appointment it's time to make sure there's nothing more serious going on. It can sometimes cause vomiting as the parasites are being killed. They may send her home with an anti-nausea medication if this is the case. He should have fecal testing, blood work and x-rays of his abdomen to determine the cause of his vomiting and inappetance. Kittens can react to deworming medication, but it is typically a short lived reaction. It worries me that he is still ill. There is likely another another disease process present. If Boxer is not improving and is not eating or drinking, I would recommend taking him back to the veterinarian for a recheck and having anti-nausea medications and fluids given to see if this helps further. If he continues to not eat, he may need a feeding tube if his liver becomes affected. I hope this helps! I would avoid giving Calpol as cats are very sensitive to this drug and can develop toxicity quite easily. There are safer fever reducers such as Meloxicam that you can have your veterinarian prescribe for you. I hope this helps!
