Why does my cat's urine smell yeasty and strong after giving birth?

I would keep any eye on Vashti's urination habits over the next 48 hours. Often the odor can change based on hydration levels and concentration of urine. If she starts urinating out of the box, if you continue to smell an odd odor, if she is straining to urinate, or only urinating in small amounts more frequently, I would recommend that she get checked out by a vet. Cats can get a UTI, but can also get urinary bladder stones, or FIC (see link to article below).
