My stray cat is peeing blood after giving birth. What should I do?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Stray cat who regularly comes to our house to eat is peeing in the front yard. There is blood in her pee. About two months ago she gave birth to three kittens. What could be going on? Is there something we can give her that might be able to help her?

Oh no, poor kitty! Peeing blood could be due to a UTI or bladder stones. Unfortunately, there's nothing at home you can give her, she needs to see a vet as soon as possible for this. Fixing a UTI or bladder stones requires medications that can only be gotten from the vet. Given that she is a stray, I would see if there is an animal shelter or an animal charity in your area that can help you with her.
