Why is my cat vomiting daily, eating grass, and what should I do?

Hi there. Many things can cause our cats to vomit. If you have changed foods, if he eats wild game, ingestion of toxic substances, hair balls, obstruction, having a bladder blockage, etc. it is good that he is lethargic-make sure he is also eating well. You can try fasting him for around 12-24 hours and seeing if he is keeping water down. If he continues to vomit and seem very uncomfortable throughout this time, you probably need to have him seen so that it does not continue. Poor Splash! This vomiting could be caused by a GI illness, eating something rotten, a foreign body, or pancreatitis. Given that he has been vomiting since Friday morning, it's time to see a vet as soon as possible. The vet can diagnose what is causing the vomiting so he can be treated . I would take Splash into a vet now.

Hi. Unfortunately vomiting can be caused by a lot of different things. This can range from something the pet ate, something stuck in the intestine such as a string or other foreign body, metabolic or endocrine diseases, food sensitivities, irritable bowel disease, or even some cancers. It is definitely not normal for Tuna to be vomiting that often. I would recommend a visit to your veterinarian. Draco may be eating his food too fast and then it expands (in the case of dry food) and the stomach wants to get rid of it, "thinking" it is overfilling, Better feed him smaller amounts of food over three to four times a day. Eating grass is a sign of a tummy ache or nausea. Draco may also be trying to get rid of a hair ball. In addition, there is a possibility of chronic pancreatitis and gastritis. Older cats also tend to get old cat diseases, such as hyperthyroidism or kidney disease, both of which can cause vomiting. Worst case scenario, especially since Draco is an older kitty, would be lymphoma. I suggest you take Draco to your veterinarian for a senior exam including blood tests, possibly x-rays, if the vomiting does not subside with changing to feeding smaller portions more frequently.

It is not normal for a cat to vomit that frequently, so your cat may have inflammatory bowel disease or another type of chronic gastrointestinal disease. It sounds as Snoozy is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.
