If she is gaining circumference and has been for a while, and if she had access to outside when she was in heat, then it is very likely she met a tomcat. If she’s unspayed and was outdoors then she’s most likely pregnant. Cats don’t get as much mammary development as dogs and other animals so you may not see changes in the teats and nipples until she gives birth. Also she’s young to be just fat. Generally young cats are more active and don’t become very fat until middle age when they become less active. Outdoor cats are often thinner too since they are more active being outside.
