My cat has a swollen cheek, eye wound, and crusted eye. What's wrong?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your cat. She will need to see her veterinarian to have the swelling evaluated. It is likely another abscess. She will need to have it lanced to allow the infection to drain out. She will need oral antibiotics as well. I hope this information helps!

It appears that your kitty has a so-called cat bite abscess. You should take her temperature and if she has a temperature of over 103F she will need to be seen by your vet and the abscess needs to be drained properly. She will also need antibiotics, If she does not have a fever, the abscess is draining nicely (you can put gentle pressure on it and remove the discharge with a tissue) and does not refill, then it might heal by itself. However since this abscess is close to the eye I strongly recommend you taking Calypso to your vet tomorrow for an exam and treatment.

Terry needs to be examined by the veterinarian today. The most common reasons for a swelling like this are tooth root abscesses, skin abscess or an allergic reaction (which is the least common). Abscesses can be very serious and cause sepsis if not treated so I recommend to have him examined today for the correct diagnosis and treatment. I am sorry to hear about Clover. It definitely sounds like he needs to go to the veterinarian for this issue, especially since the swelling is worsening. Poor Mara! It could be she was injured while you were gone, she could be experiencing an allergic reaction, or she could have a dental problem. In the second picture, it looks like there is a cloudiness in her left eye. That has to be checked out by a vet if it hasn't already. Get her into a vet as soon as possible. Best of luck.

This looks like a pretty bad skin infection. Poor paisley! (Love that name!!). This kind of infection can be caused by a cat bite abscess, wound that got infected, or even some fungal infections. I would get paisley to a vet as soon as you can for treatment and antibiotics. Hope she heals very fast!
