My cat is suddenly aggressive and moans when I lift her. Why?

I am sorry to hear that Aphrodite isn’t feeling well. She may have be nauseated, have back pain, urinary infection, or many other possibilities. Based on the level of discomfort I would encourage you to have her evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. An emergency veterinarian tonight would be ideal, but at the latest tomorrow morning. Poor Kisa! I would agree that it sounds like something isn't right. Making noises when she poops is often a sign that this is painful or uncomfortable for her. Acting aggressive when being petted is also a common sign of pain, and it sounds like she has a wound of some kind. I would really recommend taking Kisa to the vet as soon as possible - he/she can clip and clean the area around the wound to help determine what it is, and will also probably start her on antibiotics and pain medication to prevent infection and make her feel better.

If she seems like she is losing weight, it may be worth taking her to the vet to check for a medical problem. If she is not losing weight, then I would just check for anything that she may be missing in her environment, and keep an eye on her for a few more days. Monitor her food intake closely, and take her to the vet if her appetite is low or she is losing weight, or any vomiting or diarrhea occurs. I hope this helps, and that Lucy is feeling well!

It sounds like Rosalie may be in pain. If this is a new behavior and if she continues to eat and drink well, it may be OK to watch her for a day to see if the signs resolve. However, if she does not improve or if she stops eating and drinking, becomes lethargic or starts vomiting or having diarrhea, you should get her to a veterinarian immediately.

Something is probably going on with her, she is possibly ill or in pain and that may be causing her to be aggressive. i would recommend taking her to the vet for a checkup and blood test to make sure she is in good health first.

Any type of abdominal or muscular pain has to be suspected. Depending on what area of the body is painful, this can give you some clues as to what is causing the pain. If there are no obvious wounds on Izzie's skin then I would suspect an internal injury. It takes a lot for a cat to show pain so the fact that Izzie is this symptomatic should raise concern. I would recommend taking her to your veterinarian asap so they can localize exactly where the pain is coming from and hopefully implement treatment for her. Don't be tempted to give her any human pain medication, because these are toxic in cats. She is best treated at the vet.

Hello, if this is a picture of how your cat looks currently, then she needs to be seen by a veterinarian. I am concerned about the fact she is not spayed, has skin lesions, & seems to have developed a significant behavioral issue. My thoughts are the possibility of an ovarian cyst or tumor that is affecting her hormones. Routine blood work may or may not reveal anything ( which is good ). so I would really think about getting her spayed. You can try the calming products like Feliway, & oral products like Solliquin, & Anxitane, but it sounds like she may be going through some pretty significant hormonal upheavals.
