Why is my senior cat aggressive, in pain, and has a strange bump?

This sounds like she has an injury or infection in that area causing the pain and hairloss. I recommend a veterinary exam to see if it’s an infection from a fight wound abscess or perhaps from an infected anal sac. Once they have the diagnosis they can prescribe the appropriate medications. I'm glad to hear that Rosie overall seems to be fairly normal despite her vocalizations. Changes in vocalization can occur to a number of reasons, including endocrine/metabolic diseases (such as hyperthyroidism), cognitive dysfunction, hypertension (high blood pressure), neurologic conditions or as a sign of pain. I'm sorry to hear your cat is having problems. The bleeding bump on his leg, if he is allowed outside it could be a bite wound from another cat. If it has become infected, that will make him not feel well and have a decreased appetite. He could also have mass that has opened up on the skin. As far as his bottom, he may have an anal glad problem. These are small glands that sit under the skin on either side of the anus. They can become infected or blocked and even rupture open and bleed. If this doesn't appear to be the case, something coming out of his anus could be a parasite or a foreign object (piece of something he shouldn't have eaten such as a toy or clothing). Either of these scenarios can cause vomiting. You mentioned he hasn't gone to the bathroom. If he is unable to urinate (straining in the box, but no urine comes out), this is an emergency and he needs to go the veterinarian. If he hasn't defeated, it is likely due to his decreased appetite. It sounds lke she is feeling well. Because she is acting painful when you lift her and she also isn't spayed, I would suspect she may have a condition called pyometra or even a urinary tract infection (if increased urination and drinking is seen). I would highly recommend taking her in to your vet for a proper exam and some testing. Cats will initally present with very unspecific symptoms of illness, which can then progress fairly quickly if not caught and treated early, so its best to get her checked now to make sure everything is ok. He may be painful, especially since it sounds like this behavior is new. I would recommend that you take him in to your vet for an exam. Hello, sorry to hear about Kira. I think that could either be a bite wound from your other cat or an anal gland abscess. You should have this evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as youre able to as she may need antibiotics. You can apply a warm cloth in the vicinity of the wound to stimulate drainage of any pus. If this is a recent change in behavior I'd recommend having your veterinarian perform a thorough physical examination as a first step. Some common diseases in older cats like hyperthyroidism can make them much grumpier than usual. Pain from arthritis can also make cats react in an aggressive way. If your veterinarian feels there is no medical reason for the behavior change I would then recommend talking to a feline behavior specialist to see if there are changes you can make at home to address this behavior. Cat bites are no joke - veterinarians have lost fingers due to infected cat bites and cellulitis! But it sounds like there could be some other things to look into before deciding on euthanasia.
