Worried: My cat was stuck in the dryer for hours. Is she safe?

Since you washed her off, I think she will be fine. Watch her for any abnormal behaviors (not eating/drinking, vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, etc). If anything is seen, I would have your vet check her out to see if she needs any meds or treatment. Hello. This was a very stressful event for autumn, so I would give her another 24 hours to see if she calms down. If she is still obviously agitated, I would recommend a visit to your vet. She may have ingested something while under the floorboards, or there may actually be something going that made her go down the hole in the first place - curiosity aside. Going without food & water for 24 hours should not be a significant event for her. She may just be interested in whatever is down the hole. I would guess that Halle was able to find some water while she was in the basement, or perhaps she wasn't locked down there the entire time. It might be a good idea to have a vet examine her to make sure she isn't significantly dehydrated or showing signs of starvation. If she was in the basement for only a few days she may be just fine, and water and food would be all she needs. While you can certainly feed her a little extra but I wouldn't offer too much food right away - it could trigger some stomach upset.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I think that Ace should be fine as long a there are no signs of ingestion. Dryer sheets are very toxic if ingested due to the chemicals on the sheets and the fact that they are non-digestible. If he licked/ingested the chemicals off he could show oral irritation (drooling, not eating, vomiting) or skin irritation and in severe cases of ingestion breathing problems and kidney problems. Long story short, if the sheet is intact and he is eating and not drooling he is likely fine! I hope this helps!

If the water wasn't hot enough to burn you, it likely didn't cause any severe burns to Jack. He may feel uncomfortable from being so wet, and his skin may feel a little irritated. He will likely groom himself if he hasn't already, and be OK once he's fully dry. If Jack continues to act abnormally or doesn't want to eat for more than 1-2 meals, or you notice any other unusual signs, something else may be wrong and would warrant a visit to the veterinarian. She might still be a little painful from getting shut in the door, but it's a good sign she's running around and eating. She may move away when you stroke her because there is some pain in that area. Keep an eye on her for now, and do NOT give her any human pain medications. Many human ones are toxic to cats and are fatal are given. If she still appears painful in another 24 hours, then I would have her seen by a vet. Best of luck.
