My cat fell into a warm shower. Is his skin burned or irritated?

He will also need pain medication, as this will be very painful to him. Please do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. You may want to purchase an E-Collar to keep her from scratching the ear or rubbing it on things as it heals (it will likely get itchy and a bit sensitive). Hi, you can use the dry shampoo as long as it’s formulated for cats. If not, you can use plain water but rather than trying to dip him or soak him, you can try just using a wet cloth and rub it around his body. Hope this helps,

Try to wrap him in a towel (so he cannot scratch you) and then rinse his feet. He will hate you today. But he will love you again after a while. It would be better if he did not ingest the shower gel.

Bathing should not cause inability to walk unless you used a product that is toxic (which can be easily accidently done when using a flea shampoo in cats), or if your Paro inhaled some water. I would suggest just being very gentle with the water, and not spraying any water directly on the face. Use a non-medicated shampoo. Best of luck with Paro.

Also, it would be nice to know when this actually happened. Burns can be very serious and we need to at least see some photos to better guide you. This kitten is going to need vaccines, deworming, neutering, etc so you should start looking now for a low cost veterinarian for him now. Please post again with some photos and more information. It sounds like Nesca has some clipper burn from having her fur shaved. You can give Nesca an oatmeal bath that will help with the irritation from the clipper rash. Do not put any topical antibiotic ointment on it unless prescribed by the vet. That's because cats groom and ingest most of the topical ointment you apply and therefore should be used only under direct veterinary supervision and if there are no other appropriate options. Many human ointments contain multiple other ingredients which are not necessarily safe to be swallowed. You can give you vet a call to let them know Nesca has some clipper burn, and they can recommend a safe treatment for her.
