My cat meows non-stop when I leave the bed. Is she seeking attention?

Pet's info: Cat | Bombay | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 9 months old | 8 lbs

My cat keeps meowing for no reason all day won’t stop until I’m next to her on our bed, she has food water and litter she got everything but once I move off the bed she starts meowing. And when I’m on the bed with her she doesn’t stop rubbing against me She isn’t in heat either cause when she is she hides from us we know her routine when she’s in heat. We did recently lose someone but our cat didn’t really know that person

It's possible she is bored or anxious. There are a few things you can do which may help. Try enriching her environment. Here is a great article about cat's instinctual needs:

Use a Feliway diffuser, set aside 30 minutes a day for vigorous play and/or switch the food to Royal Canin Calm. You may also try feeding Juju Bean from a food puzzle and/or hiding food around the house for her to find. Most cats response best to combination therapy. If Misty hasn't gone into heat in 3 years, then she is likely fixed. Cats are naturally more active at night so you are going against her natural instincts:

You can also try feeding her out of an automatic pet feeder. If Nala is waking you up for food, using an automatic feeder can help her to change her behavior and disassociate you form food.

This can be normal cat behavior. Sometimes they are needy and asking for something such as food or attention, sometimes they are bored. Be sure to try to encorporate lots of environmental enrichment for Roxy around your home—scratching posts, toys, treat puzzle toys, elevated car walkways on the wall, elevated perches or window perches, bird feeders on windows next to perches etc. That may help minimize this behavior. If the behavior is related to anxiety, which is possible, a product such as Feliway or Comfort Zone may be helpful. You can use catnip on scratching posts and toys to stimulate her to play with them. Why is my 11-month-old female cat meowing loudly? Is she in heat?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Starting her heat cycle in a unspayed female cat is the most common reason for increased vocalization. Other possible causes are: she sees other cats outside (territorial), anxiety (cats outside, starting heat, changes to house hold), attention seeking, or medical issue. I would close the blinds temporarily, provide environmental enrichment (cat trees, interactive cat toys, lazer pointer, play with her) and consider spaying her. You can also consider a Vet exam to be sure it isn't a medical condition. If she is otherwise fine, I hope that is improves with time and some of the above. Have a great day!

My cat suddenly meows loudly at 5 AM daily. How can I stop it?

It doesn't really sound like a medical issue but it is always best to have a vet check him out if there is a drastic change in behavior. Medical issues should be ruled out before a behavioral issue can be presumed. If no medical problem is found then it is likely behavioral. He may be bored or needing more stimulation. Unfortunately it's impossible to know why Adik is meowing so much! If the cats are not spayed and neutered, he is more likely to reactive if the female is coming into heat or if there are other un-neutered males outside. If they are not spayed and neutered, I recommend to have this done. This may help to decrease reactivity but it may now fully control it.
