My cat had surgery. Can she have more kittens? Spaying and breed size?

Hello, My cat had to do a opreration by her first Birth she had only on kittien . Is that True that she cant give birth (all time operation) ???? She is a seamese cat marriged with Britsch cat, is there a problem because of the diffrent breeds and sizes??? I dont wont to spay her because I am afraid, its to early and maybe its not good for her only for me Please waht do you think.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If she hasn't been spayed yet she should be able to still have kittens. Her breed is only a problem if she or the male cat has large skulls that they may not pass in the birth canal. It is not too early to spay her, in fact I usually recommend spaying at 6months. The more heat cycles so goes through the more at risk she is for mammary and uterine cancers as she ages. My recommendation is to spay her soon. Good luck and kisses to Sussie!

    Likely if your cat required a c section for her first litter, she will need a c section in the future if you choose to breed her. If she is old enough to have kittens, it should be safe for her to be spayed unless you are just wanting to keep her intact for breeding purposes. If my client's cats require c section operations for birth, I usually recommend spaying and preventing future health complications to the mother cat by doing so.

    While size of your male will be a factor in how large your kittens are-if you have a very small female birth will be very hard on her anyway.

How soon can I safely spay my cat after she had a C-section delivery?
I would recommend to spay her in the next 6 months if possible to prevent her from coming into heat again and potentially accidentally getting pregnant again. As long as she is healthy at the time of the second surgery it shouldn't hurt her to go under anesthesia again since she is so young. I hope this helps!

Yes, Pixie can get pregnant as soon as she starts cycling. Yes, it will stunt her growth a little as she is not fully mature yet. She will not mate once she is pregnant but may come back into heat once the litter starts weaning. Cats can be prolific breeders so I would highly recommend to have her spayed ASAP! She can produce up to 27 kittens a year! Lastly, no, you may not be able to tell she has had kittens once she is spayed. I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is ultimately your decision whether you want to spay Noushmc or not. Most people find they do not like the behavior their cats display when in heat. Sometimes the cats will urine mark when intact and it leaves the uterus at risk for an infection (pyometra) when she is older. There are cats who have no problems. I hope this helps!

Can unneutered 6-month-old boy and girl kittens get pregnant?
Unfortunately, brothers and sisters will mate and the offspring may have health problems, so I would strongly recommend having them desexed as soon as possible. Female cats come into season based on the number of daylight hours, so your kitten may come into season shortly (often January to February). My cat's had heat cycles. Is spaying still important for her?
Since Baby is over 1 year, she can be neutered any time now. I would recommend that she is neutered for medical reason, first the high risk of developing mammary cancer which is malignant in cats and second uterus cancer and/or possible uterus infection. Think about her future health, the answer will be clear. Hope this helps !

Can I spay my cat even if her 12-week-old kitten is still nursing?
You can get Sugar spayed even though her kitten still tries to nurse. It's fine. When she is recovering, you should keep her in a large crate or a small room by herself to limit movement and allow healing, and that hopefully should break the habit of the kitten nursing. She will need to be alone for two weeks.
