My cat is sleeping all day and feels warm. What's a normal temp?

This temperature is slightly below normal. Normal temp is 37.7 to 38.8. We can sometimes see the body temp be a bit below normal when their blood circulation is less not as good as it should be — most often we see this this due to heart disease or dehydration. If he is very dumpy and lethargic (which is what I assume you mean by “lifeless”) and recently vomited as well, please take him to your vet. They may recommend blood tests and possibly xrays. Treatment will depend on what they find on exam and any testing.

The temperature itself isn’t an emergency, but it is definitely a fever. If he goes outdoors I would start feeling all over for an abscess from a fight. I would highly encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian soon, but as long as there are no other clinical signs such as difficulty breathing etc then I think having him seen by your veterinarian tomorrow is appropriate. Poor guy. A fever and lethargy in a cat can be a very serious thing. I would suspect he may have an internal conditon going on such as a parasitic infection, viral. Infection or bacterial infection. I would suggest getting Pew to your local vet right away for bloodwork and a urinalysis to start. Hopefully this will help narrow down the underlying issue so that we know how to best treat Pew so that he can hopefully recover from this. A normal temperature in a cat will range between 100 and 102.5, so a temperature of 103 in a stressed kitty could potentially be a result of stress/excitement and not something we would normally be excessively concerned about. If your kitty seems to be normal at home then I would wait for news from your vet tomorrow and continue to monitor her and if she shows any changes in her behavior contact your vet earlier.

There are many things that can cause a cat to have a fever and these include pancreatitis, pneumonia, FIP, systemic infections, foreign body ingestion and septic peritonitis, among many others. I advise that you have Mia evaluated by your veterinarian as some of these conditions can be managed to try to get Mia to feel better. At the very least, Mia can be started on symptomatic therapy for now until your veterinarian is able to figure out what is wrong with her. Unfortunately the only reliable way to measure the temperature remains intrarectally with a thermometer. If she is otherwise fine and not showing any sign at all, I would not be worried about her.
