My cat is scooting, licking, and leaving clear liquid. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 7 lbs

My cat has been acting very strange. Well first off she is scooting along the floor and licking her private. She also keeps going in her little box and scratches the floor just like she would in her litter box. She also hovers and leaves this clear liquid wherever she wants. I'm really concerned. How much would it cost to get this treatment? Could she die?

I'm sorry Chase isn't doing well! There are a couple of things this could be causing her symptoms. Given that she is scooting along the floor and licking her private area, she could have impacted anal sacs. That would also cause her to hover and leave clear liquid behind. This could also be caused by intestinal parasites. If the clear liquid is coming from her vulva, it could be urine and Chase could have a UTI. None of these things will kill her, but she does need to see a vet in order to have the cause diagnosed so she can be treated. The cost of treatment for this varies by area and clinics within the area, but for anal sac impaction, that should only be the cost of an exam to fix. Any medication needed, such as for intestinal worms, would be an additional cost on top of the exam. For a UTI, there will be tests needed to be done as well as antibiotics prescribed. I can give you some resources that may help you afford a vet if finances are an issue. You can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants. Best Friends also has a list of resources that offer financial assistance on their website.

it also could be because of impacted anal glands. If you could take Cleo to your local vets for a check-up that will be great. Impacted anal glands can cause pain during defecation. What is more, it can turn into an abscess if left untreated.

I would be concerned that Shae Shae could have vaginal hyperplasia and prolapse. This would cause her to have difficulty urinating, which would then lead her to stink like urine. Why is my cat hiding, not eating, and constantly licking her rear?
It sounds like Lacey doesn't feel well. Cats can get infections of their anal sacs, which are around their rear end. If she is licking a lot then that is a possible cause. Of course many other problems could be going on as well. I would really recommend that she be seen by a veterinarian. She's licking her anus a lot because it's bothering her, and if you are see a pale pus discharge coming from that area, I would be concerned that she has infected anal sacs.
