Why is my cat hiding, not eating, and constantly licking her rear?

She may have an anal sac abscess, or she could have a little bit of colitis and she just hasn’t had a bowel movement for you to see the full effect of what is going on. Poor Willow! There is a chance that she could have full, impacted or infected anal glands, or intestinal worms if she is licking her hind end. If she is lethargic and not eating or drinking normally, she see a vet immediately. Otherwise, it may be okay to wait until tomorrow. I hope that she feels better soon!

Thank you for the photo. Yes, it does look serious but I cannot give you a specific diagnosis just based on this photo and your description. She is licking back there either because something is hurting her (so she is in pain) or she has an infection of either the anal area and/or the vagina/uterus/bladder. I am glad she is otherwise acting normally but that does not mean there is no problem here. I suggest you have her to a vet for an exam.

Yes, I would take Luna into the vet. She's licking her anus a lot because it's bothering her, and if you are see a pale pus discharge coming from that area, I would be concerned that she has infected anal sacs. The excessive eating with weight loss is a classic sign of hyperthyroidism which is a fairly common condition in cats so this should be considered as a possibility. This is usually managed well with medications. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Ebony may have a condition known as pyometra, especially if she is unspayed and having vaginal discharge. This is essentially an infection in the uterus, which causes lethargy and vomiting, and is very uncomfortable. This condition can be life threatening and requires immediate veterinary attention.
