Why is my cat's eye runny? Is rose water or boric acid safe?

I wouldn't recommend it. If she has eye discharge, I'd recommend using a moistened clean cloth or paper towel (using lukewarm tap water) to wipe it away and then another clean dry one to dry off the area. I'd also recommend talking to her vet to see if there's anything that can be done to help with the discharge. Some Persian's just have discharge, but she could also have dry eye that making the discharge worse. Good luck!

No, I would not recommend using that on Russo's eye. The irritation in Russo's eye could be due to an eye infection, and he would need an antibiotic eye ointment to treat it. Because of the importance and delicate nature of an eye, it is never recommended to try to treat any eye problems yourself, and these problems should be seen by a vet immediately. That's because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would take Russo to a vet now to have his eye examined and treated.

Hi. Poor baby. This could be an infection or a corneal ulcer. Both which are red and painful. I would recommend getting him seen today or tomorrow. Nothing over the counter besides saline is safe. Good luck

Hello. I am so sorry for your worries with Parker. It does look like the conjunctiva & third eyelid are a bit swollen, but the rest of the eye & cornea are very quiet. Unless Parker is very uncomfortable with his eye, & you are worried that by pawing he could do more harm, you can wait for his appointment in the morning. You just need to use your best judgement as to whether this can wait or not. I see no reason not to use a rinse approved for use in a cat's eye, but if it seems to irritate the eye more, then stop its use & just have Parker seen in the morning.
