Once the patches of hair loss decrease in size and hair begins to grow back in typically indicates that treatment is successful. If you are giving oral medication as well then hopefully hair will stop Falling out soon. However, it can take a few weeks to really slow ringworm down, and then a few more weeks to really get rid of it. While it may clear up in a week or so, it’s not uncommon to be a bit of a longer battle for some, and sometimes difficult to clear. Hello. Yes, sometimes ringworm can be stubborn. If your cat has numerous lesions, or they are along the eyes and mouth, your cat should be on an oral antifungal medication. Also, cats will often lick the medication off as soon as you apply it, so it is not effective. If you are not using an Elizabethan collar, that could help prevent licking. Cases that do not respond to topical treatment often do better with a prescription oral antifungal. I would also make sure that it is actually ringworm. It may need to be rechecked by your veterinarian. Thank you

The anti-fungal medications can sometimes take several days to a week or so to see a dramatic improvement so if Ruckas just started the treatment, I would give it a good week. After another week and you still do not see any improvement, you may revisit with Ruckas's veterinarian to discuss other causes such as a bacterial infection or perhaps due to a seasonal allergy or food allergy as a cause for the skin lesions. Hi and thank you for using PetCoach. If the fungal infection is ringworm, it can take weeks to months to fully resolve. Many times treating the environment as well as the cat is needed. Keep Mia indoors may make it easier to contain the infection and prevent reinfection. The vet can look at hairs under the microscope or try to culture the fungus from Mia to assess if she still has it. Oral systemic medication only (intrafungol) for ringworm must be given instead of lime dip and sprays. I would not give anything else a part from the oral medication, as the signs (dry hair sores) on legs seem to be due to an allergic reaction to one or to a combination of different products you are giving. I would then repeat repeat the culture again and if negative I would stop intrafungol as well. Please send us picture of the sores to have more specific advices.
