My cat keeps reverse sneezing for hours and is weak. What's wrong?

I am sorry to hear that Jasper has such frequent sneezing. This definitely is beyond what we would call a normal reverse sneezing event. I would suspect that he may have a foreign body lodged in the nasal passages and the frequent sneezing is an attempt to get it out. Another possible causes a severe allergic response that is causing excessive inflammation and irritation in the nasal passages. I would recommend taking Jasper into your veterinarian right away for an examination of his mouth and nose in an attempt to find the source of irritation. Since this has bene going on for a while, I would get it checked by your vet as soon as possible. It could be a cold, he could have sneezed some particle of foreign material up into his nasal cavity, he could have a polyp in his nose, there's no way to know for sure without an exam with your vet. The greenish tinge to the discharge may mean he already has an infection going on. Your vet will do an exam, possibly lab work and/or x-rays to determine what's going on and based on these results will be better able to tell you what's wrong and give you treatment options.

There are no specific diagnostic tests for asthma, so it's a diagnosis of exclusion. The vet can do a physical exam, blood work, x-rays, parasitic tests, and evaluation of bronchial secretions to rule out other causes of his sneezing and coughing.
