My cat got too much Rescue Remedy. Is deep sleep normal? Is he okay?

Fortunately, this is pretty safe, so while it's recommended to give those treats in moderation, I wouldn't be overly worried if Bug is acting normal. I recommend stopping the treats for a few days while Bug metabolizes what he's gotten, and then giving the treats according to the package guidelines going forward. Of course, if you are worried (or if Bug seems excessively sleepy or wobbly on his feet) then I recommend reaching out to your regular vet. But my suspicion is he'll do just fine! Hope this helps!

This is pretty normal as he is scared in the carrier, You can get Feliway spray and spray the cage. This may calm him down and take some of the stress. You should also cover the carrier while in the car, so he cannot look out the window, as cats do not understand the landscape rushing past them, and that is very scary. You can try rescue remedy in small amounts, however it usually has alcohol which is not recommended for cats and tastes horrible and might make the cat even more upset. So I suggest you try Feliway spray first.

Mirtazapine does have a side effect of drowsiness or sedation in pets. It is commonly used in cats as an appetite stimulant. 30mg would be 4 times higher than I normally use, and this overdosage can cause: 57% vocalizing, 38% agitated, 23% vomiting, 21% tachycardic, 15% ataxic and 11% lethargic. The symptoms can last a little longer than 72 hours. As long as Dolly is still eating and drinking normally, I would continue to watch her. If the she is still not completely normal in a day or two, she may need a checkup with a vet.

In terms of over-the-counter options, it would be safe to try a natural calming supplement like Zylkene or Solliquin for cats - both of these can be very helpful in reducing anxiety and promoting relaxation in situations like this. If you think that Nala may need something stronger, you can also talk to your veterinarian about prescription anti-anxiety medication for her.

Usually you would not need Bach remedy or any other herb to help your kitty recover from dental surgery. Your vet will give her antibiotics and pain medication and she should be ok. i would not give her anything by mouth after a dental surgery as there may be open wounds and you could cause an infection or contaminate the mouth. It is safer to just not manipulate her mouth. Your kitty will feel so much better after having her teeth cleaned and damaged teeth removed. Give her lots of TLC if she wants it, and all will be well. Glycerine acts as a stool softener in cats and can cause diarrhea.

It is safe unless Mel is allergic to it (quite rare). The efficacy of it is a source of discussion and honestly I have never seen great benefits from its administration. The food you are giving is perfect and is part of the treatment for chronic renal failure in cats. K/D prescription diet (Hill's) is a good quality food as well.

The main adverse reactions are sleepiness for an extended period of time (like 12-24 hours), and low blood pressure. Always try the low end of the dose range first, and if that is not sufficient, increase the dose. Use as directed on the box or by your veterinarian to make it as safe as possible. This drug is meant for occasional use (like a trip to the vet). I would not recommend it for daily use (except in short term cases like for a few days after a surgery when the patient needs to stay quiet). Hope this helps and best of luck to you and you cat!
