I would be cautious about using water additives containing sodium bicarbonate in a cat with dental disease as compromised kidneys can have difficulty in regulating acid balance in the blood. I recommend you do not use until this can be checked with the manufacturer as to levels and safety for cats with kidney disease.Once she is more stable it may be possible to perform a short dental procedure with intravenous fluids and short acting anesthetic in order to remove the source of pain and discomfort from her mouth

While Rescue Remedy has not been tested properly for safety, it has been used for a while, and there haven't been any adverse side effects reported. Based on this, Milenko should be ok, but I would monitor him, and if he's still sleeping quite soundly by morning, I would take him into the vet. In the future, given that he seems to have a strong reaction to it, I would refrain from using it with Milenko.

I agree having her teeth cleaned it’s a good idea especially if she has tartar buildup.I would start by having your veterinarian run some general bloodwork to make sure her organ function is good and if everything looks good and her heart is healthy and anesthesia is very safe. Having bad dental health can be more detrimental in the long run and getting this taken care of would be a great idea. Also make sure that wherever you have her teeth cleaned has full monitoring devices and that they do intravenous fluids during the procedure. I would discontinue this medicine completely . It's not label specifically for cats, and therefore may not be safe to use on her. While Merrill's current symptoms could be caused by a medical illness such as systemic illness, there is a possibility there this homeopathic medication could be causing them as well. It would be better for Merrill's health if you brushed her teeth yourself using a toothpaste specifically designed for cats and a toothbrush. You can get those at a pet store.

We sometimes do anesthesia multiple times on animals in just a few days or weeks. That is not abnormal. I can never tell you that she will be fine to have anesthesia again after 5 days. No one can tell you that. As long as they are hydrating her (putting her on IV fluids during the procedure) though, I would not be overly worried. Anesthetics we use are the same as in human medicine (in most cases) and are very safe. If she is eating better and you want to wait a couple weeks that may be an option. You should voice your concerns to your vet and go from there. They may agree with you that since she is eating better maybe she can wait a couple weeks.
