Can I give my cat prednisone, antibiotics, fish oil, and probiotics together?

You must give special probiotics for cats, human probiotics are just unsuitable for cats and dogs because their bacterial flora is completely different from ours, and yes it is better to give them betwwen meals.

Yes all of those medications can be given together. It will be important to consider other treatment options for the IBD if he is diabetic. Steroids will make it more difficult to manage the Diabetes. There are other types of steroids and/or options for IBD if needed. Hi there. You can give the Metrolag, Doxycycline and the Prednisone at the same time. There is no problem with that. The Maalox is the one to keep separate. I would give the Maalox one hour AFTER giving the other medications. If possible you should give Chiyo a probiotic as well. All those antibiotics are going to disrupt the normal population of bacteria in his intestines which may cause additional issues. I don't know what products are available in Lebanon so you may want to call your vet and ask about getting a probiotic. Hi there. Any antibiotic will cause some transient changes in gut flora. In some patients, this may cause some symptoms of GI upset such as vomiting or diarrhea. If you're concerned, you can certainly give Bailey a probiotic such as Forti-Flora in his food each day while he's taking the doxycycline - this won't hurt anything, and might help to keep his intestinal bacteria from being disrupted as much.

Hello. Make sure both doctors know that you are giving both medications. I would continue the Doxycycline & the prednisolone until you have spoken to at least one of the vets.
