My cat's poop has a sandy texture. Is it worms or something else?

Little white grain things sounds like tapeworm segments. I suspect they may have tapeworms. Take them into the vet along with a sample of their poop for the vet to examine. If they do have tapeworms, the vet will give you medication to treat as well as flea medication. Fleas carry tapeworms, so make sure all the animals in your home are up to date with their flea medication. I hope this helps!

It could be tapeworms. When a cat has tapeworms, you see the segments of them, which look like grains of rice. You typically don't see full worms in the poop. You need to have Mudpie seen by a vet in the morning to have this diagnosed and treated.

Pale, white, or gray stools may be indicators of liver disease or intestinal bacterial infections. You may want to take a stool sample as well as your cat, if the stool does not normalize over the next few days or of your kitty appears ill. The vet may want to do blood work to make sure the liver is functioning properly. If so then it is likely that your kitty has an intestinal infection that will require antibiotics to clear up.

Although a picture of it would help determining what it is exactly, that could depend on the diet and could be completely normal (especially if kind of jelly material). It could be even a worm! If persistent that could be due to underlying malabsorption of nutrients, or gastrointestinal inflammation/infection. I wouldn’t be too concerned about the appearance of the stool and I don’t think it looks like an intestinal parasite. I would watch for blood in the stool or diarrhea. I definitely think you should keep your appointment since intestinal parasites certainly could be a concern (often there are no signs) and your kittens should probably start their vaccine series.

Intestinal parasites can certainly cause loos stools. They can include worms, Giardia, coccidia, etc. I would recommend that yo have Taison's stools tested for parasites to determine if this is the cause and, if so, what treatment is warranted.
