Honestly it is better to give plain water however, if you do give Pedialyte you need to make sure you dilute it first. The electrolyte amounts in Pedialyte are made for humans and not animals and it also has a lot of sugar!!

To dilute it: mix equal amounts of water and pedialyte together (ex: 1 cup of pedialyte with 1 cup of water).

At 10 pounds, Poppy can have about 1 to 1.5 cups of the mixture per day - divide that into small amounts every 30-60 minutes.

Hope this helps. Best wishes.

There is actually no set dose for pedialyte. It's best to just offer a 1/4 cup three times a day and ensure plenty of normal water is available to ensure she stays well hydrated.

I hope that helps and all is well with Poppy.
