My cat has paw fungus. Can I remove her cone after spray dries?

It would be best if she doesn't like the wound at all as it will not heal if she keeps licking it. You should leave the collar on all the time if she is licking the wound. Otherwise, leave it on for about an hour after applying the cream to make sure it has had enough time to be absorbed into the skin.

An OTC antifungal cream *should* help minor infection, however we cant say this definitively without a physical e am. You cann use an e-collar (cone) on Hagtid to prevent licking or ingestion of the cream until the spit is resolved. The ringworm fungus thrives in dark, warm, moist environments. You can wash bedding in the hottest water allowable by fabric and then dry it in full sunlight. A solution of 1 part bleach to 10 parts water can be used to disinfect hard, non porous surfaces. Allow for at least a 10 minute wet contact time before wiping down. An adhesive fabric roller can be used to clean up atray hairs on furniture.

Since topical medication hasnt healed the area up Cali may need oral antibiotics to help clear up the ulceration that is on the surface of her wart. You may also want to consider talking to your vet about having the mass removed since it is causing her some distress and staying infected. An e-collar (cone) will go a long way in aiding in healing. Keep it on until the wound is completely healed. Limit activity to just leash walks for elimination. Avoid excessive running jumping or rough play. Vetericyn Plus spray (https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/dog/dog-health-and-wellness/vetericyn-plus-wound-and-skin-care-for-dogs ) may also speed healing. It is hard to know exactly what is needed without an examination though this does sound severe enough that it warrants an evaluation by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check if further surgery is needed or possibly treat for a likely infection and most importantly start Selina on medications for pain as this is likely painful. I would recommend taking the e-collar off and keep her in a closed room with you. most cats won't open the spay wound and in her case i think the cage and the collar are causing her too much stress. if you see that she is licking the area obsessively- put the collar back on.
