My cat hasn't peed in 3 days, rubs rear, but acts normal. Is she sick?

Hello. I hesitate to recommend anything just yet since you say she seems to be fine. If she was unable to urinate, she would be crying, painful, trying to posture & strain to urinate in the litter box. Unfortunately, it may be possible that she is urinating elsewhere, perhaps in the back of a closet or on a pile of laundry. I assume she is also an indoor only cat. Just watch her for now, & if there are any indications that she is having difficulties in the litter box, or she seems to be licking her vaginal area excessively, try to push fluids to her by adding a little extra water to her canned food ( remove the dry for now ) & encouraging her to drink by offering low sodium broths or stock along with very fresh water. Poor Masha! It could be she is suffering from something called a pyometra, which is an infection of the uterus. It makes a cat very sick, and it's fatal without treatment. I think she needs to see a vet now, and I advise you to take her into one immediately. Best of luck.

That sounds worrisome that she is either not producing urine or that she is unable to urinate. Both of these conditions are serious. I recommend to play it safe and to have Layla examined today. You may need to get her in with another clinic or even an emergency clinic. The doctor will need to palpate her bladder and run bloodwork and a urinalysis. It's best to play it safe. Have Moose examined tonight by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER. A cat that is not urinating or is unable to urinate should be considered a veterinary emergency. An exam and testing may diagnose another urinary tract infection or a urinary obstruction. Blood work can be submitted to assess major organ function, especially kidney function. Treatment will depend on the diagnosis.

Yes, I would be very concerned that Baby hasn't peed in two days. She could have peed elsewhere in the house from the stress of having all the company in the home, or she could be blocked from bladder stones. I would take her into a vet right away if you can't find any place in the home where she might have peed. It's not normal for a cat to not pee for two days, and if she is blocked from bladder stones, that is a medical emergency.

I’m so sorry to hear about Tommy! It sounds like he could have an infection, kidney disease, or a host of other possible ailments. Any kitty who has been acting this way for 3 days needs to see the vet sooner rather than later. The lethargy you are seeing indicates a problem as well. My advice is to monitor her tonight, and if she is still lethargic in the morning, hasn't peed, and/or still hasn't pooped, take her into a vet first thing. I hope this helps!
