Why is my cat suddenly lethargic, not eating, and not using her litter box?

I'm sorry to hear that Lily has been feeling so poorly today. As Dr. Melanie mentioned, lethargy and a loss of appetite can be due to many underlying health conditions. Since she seems to prefer laying down, it's also possible that she's experiencing some degree of pain or discomfort. Some of these possible conditions include pancreatitis, infectious diseases (FIV, feline leukemia, FIP, etc.), constipation, kidney disease, liver disease, toxin exposure (did she eat a plant, medication or something else she shouldn't have?), or many other conditions. The fact that she hasn't been using the litter box normally might be a sign that she is dehydrated, even though she's drinking water when it's placed in front of her. At this point, it would be best to take Lily to her vet fairly urgently for evaluation. Your vet will need to examine her and will likely recommend some diagnostic testing, which may include blood work, an ultrasound or x-rays, to get to the bottom of this issue. I hope that she feels better soon!

I would take Gypsy into the vet right away. I see that she isn't spayed, and her symptoms could be indicative of a pyometra. A pyometra is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment. It could also be that she is sick with a GI illness or pancreatitis causing her symptoms, but because I can't see her in person to rule out a pyometra and the fact that it is so deadly, it's best she sees a vet now. If she is extremely lethargic then I would take her today, otherwise tomorrow at your Vet at the latest. She could have a fever from an upper respiratory tract infection, leukemia, feline infectious peritonitis or other viral infection. I wish you and Sasha the best!

Ebony may have a condition known as pyometra, especially if she is unspayed and having vaginal discharge. This is essentially an infection in the uterus, which causes lethargy and vomiting, and is very uncomfortable. This condition can be life threatening and requires immediate veterinary attention. Ebony's symptoms can also be due to a urinary tract infection or underlying medical condition. I recommend having her seen right away, there are emergency clinics open 24 hours in most towns/cities. It sounds as Mittens is suffering from a severe gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. you must take her to the vet urgently, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

Poor girl. Kitty sounds very ill and may have an infection. You need to take her to your local vet right away if you want to help her at this point. The vet needs to do some bloodwork on her to determine if an infection is present and then prescribe medication to hopefully stabilize her condition quickly. This cannot be treated at home, especially since we don't know what the underlying problem is. Please take her now. Loss of appetite and lethargy can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. Defecating outside of the litter box is usually a medical issue and can be linked to everything else going on. I recommend that you have Merlin evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam.
