My kitten is acting weird, not eating. Is lavender toxic to cats?

It sounds like poor Olive is sick. Anorexia and lethargy can be signs of many illnesses such as a systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. It's actually quite serious when a cat isn't eating, and I would take her into the vet as soon as possible. The vet can diagnose the cause of her symptoms, and can treat her for it. It sounds like he is getting sick. Without additional clinical signs it is hard to say exactly what is causing his lethargy and decreased appetite but he could be starting with a respiratory virus or a gastrointestinal virus. He could also have parasites that need to be treated. If it continues than he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. Your vet can run lab work to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat. If he is unvaccinated, please discuss a vaccine plan with your vet once he has recovered from this illness.

It sounds as Mittens is suffering from a severe gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. you must take her to the vet urgently, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

Your cat could be upset about the kitten but I am concerned about the length of time he has not eaten. Cats can become sick with a disease called Hepatic Lipidosis or "fatty liver" when they start using fat for energy because they do not have any food in their stomach to digest. Piku could be sick from the chemicals, sick from the new kitten even though the kitten is healthy or just be sick from something else. He should be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible.

The lizard your kitten ate may have upset her tummy. She may vomit, drool excessively, and not want to eat for a few days while the lizard is still in her stomach. If this behavior continues for more than 48 hours I would recommend taking her in the see the vet. Poor Maggie. There are several things that can cause vomiting and lethargy including hairballs, parasites, upper respiratory infection, eating human food, foreign bodies +/- Gi obstruction, certain viral and bacterial infections and much more. I would stop feeding her milk as most cats eventually get to where they cannot tolerate it. I would try to keep her inside so she can rest and offer her different types of food to try and entice her to eat. If she is still refusing to eat tomorrow or the vomiting is continuing, I would have your vet take a look at her. Your vet will be able to do a fecal, blood work and even x-rays if needed. Your vet will be able to get her the proper meds to help her feel better. I hope this helps!

Lavender oil is listed as toxic to cats in most toxicology databases. Inhaling it may cause respiratory irritation. If enough is inhaled, it may cause serious toxicity. Given how dangerous it is, not having it in the house at all would be recommended.
