My cat has a loose tooth. Is it safe for me to pull it out at home?

Poor kitty. If the tooth is loose enough to then a gentle pull may be fine to do, as long as it is well tolerated by Oreo. However the deciduous teeth should fall out on their own as the adult teeth come in and we generally let this process occur naturally with no need of pulling on the teeth manually. That appears to be a deciduous (baby) tooth. You can see the adult tooth near it and next to the other canine on the right side. If she will allow and you can do it safely, wipe the tooth with a piece of gauze. It should come away. Have her examined by your veterinarian tomorrow. She may need a dental x-ray to rule out retained roots.kittens will begin to lose teeth between 3-4 months of age. By 7 months, the adult teeth should be fully erupted.

I would definitely recommend leaving it alone because you could cause some pain and injury by wiggling on it. However I would consider having your vet take a look at it because safe extraction if the canine tooth may be recommended to avoid having a huge hole left behind for foodstuffs to then get clogged into. If your vet extracts the tooth instead of just letting it fall out, the vet can then close the hole with suture. This is the best approach when dealing with diseases canine teeth especially, because this is the only tooth that can leave a hole that directly communicates with the nasal passages (oronasal fistula), so we take extra precautions with this tooth in particular. If he swallows it, it will likely pass through him in a day or two. Ideally, he should be physically examined by your veterinarian. There may be a degree of periodontal disease or infection that should be addressed to prevent spread or discomfort.

I'd be worried in that this will be painful to Dublin. In addition, food could get caught under the loose tooth, leading to infection. Poor kitties can get so scared when going to the veterinarian. Some veterinarians are More comfortable with cranky cats than others. You may want to call you veterinarian and ask for a sedative to give her before you bring her in. This may be enough to allow the doctor to examine her well. I wouldn't recommend pulling it yourself, because so many things can go wrong with this scenario and we would be legally liable for any consequences that could ensue. Although there is a low risk of complications if it is truly a baby tooth. Pet formulated oral rinse from your local pet store is the only thing that should be used to clean a tooth root hole. Any brand will do. Instead, monitor it to see if it comes out on its own. You don't have to stop any of her playtime, continue things as normal and if it has not fallen out within 1 week, its best to take her to your vet to see if it can safely be pulled out.
