My kitten's baby tooth is loose. Is it safe for me to pull it out?

It may be ok to remove if it is fairy lose and comes out without too much manipulation. Use your fingers only when trying to pry it free. Also use care not to get bitten as this may cause some discomfort from your pet kitty. If you can't get it free,then visit your local vet for assistance. If this is a kitten tooth, then it can be removed fairly easily; however if this is an adult tooth then periodontal disease may be lurking underneath the gum requiring a full dental cleaning and extraction(s). That appears to be a deciduous (baby) tooth. You can see the adult tooth near it and next to the other canine on the right side. If she will allow and you can do it safely, wipe the tooth with a piece of gauze. It should come away. Have her examined by your veterinarian tomorrow. She may need a dental x-ray to rule out retained roots.kittens will begin to lose teeth between 3-4 months of age. By 7 months, the adult teeth should be fully erupted.

Typically the baby premolars will fall out between 16-20 weeks of age, so it could be possible that Chid has pulled out his adult teeth, but from the picture, these do not look like adult teeth. I suspect that his premolars are later coming out, and that's what he pulled out. I would have him seen by a vet just to be safe, and show the vet the teeth. I hope this helps!

I would hold off on taking Oliver in the vet just yet to see if his baby canines fall out on their own. If they do not fall out in a week or so, then yes I would take him into the vet to discuss having them extracted. Best of luck!

I wouldn't recommend pulling it yourself, because so many things can go wrong with this scenario and we would be legally liable for any consequences that could ensue. Although there is a low risk of complications if it is truly a baby tooth. Pet formulated oral rinse from your local pet store is the only thing that should be used to clean a tooth root hole. Any brand will do. Instead, monitor it to see if it comes out on its own. You don't have to stop any of her playtime, continue things as normal and if it has not fallen out within 1 week, its best to take her to your vet to see if it can safely be pulled out. Hi, what you are seeing is his adult teeth coming in and his baby teeth haven't fallen out yet. this does not cause pain and is not a medical issue unless he gets to be over 1.5 years and they have not fallen out. The retained baby teeth can get food stuck in them and cause dental disease. I would not worry about it until his is older. Good luck, I hope this helps!

Hi and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Cleo is losing her kitten teeth and getting her adult teeth in. The canine (fang) teeth come in around 4-6 months of age. Sounds like this is completely normal and has nothing do to with the food that you are feeding her. Over the next 2 months you will notice the canine teeth (kitten) will fall out and the adult teeth will replace them. Sounds like Cleo is doing good otherwise. I wish you two the best.
