My cat is limping, losing weight, and won't eat. What's wrong?

As your cat hasn't been eating and is limping it is best to schedule a veterinary appointment ASAP. The limp could be caused by a number of things including injury to the leg, such as a break or sprain, wound or infection from a bite or scratch, or muscle or nerve damage. If the limb is hurt severely enough or if infection is present it may make your cat not want to eat. Until you can get to the vet, limit all activity to prevent further injury to the limb, and try to entice eating by warming up some wet food or adding some warmed boiled chicken to your cat's food. However it is necessary to schedule a vet appointment ASAP.

Poor Bella! She could be skinny from an illness, insufficient diet, or intestinal worms. Limping is a sign of pain is cats, and she may be falling from the pain or is very weak. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Adee. I am concerned that she may have an abscess as a result of a fight wound. This a deep infection trapped under the skin. It is painful and makes the cat not want to eat. She will need to see a veterinarian to determine if this is the case. If so, treatment such as antibiotics will be necessary. Hello! Weight loss can be from diabetes, thyroid disease, even cancer. Or, can just be due to a new food, or increased exercise! The limping may well be a separate problem, due to an injury to the limb. I would suggest that your take Emrys in to see his vet, to have a check up, and possibly some blood tests. Best of luck!

I'm sorry that Murphy isn't feeling well! The limping can be caused by trauma or a fracture, arthritis, a joint infection, or an issue with ligaments/tendons (soft tissues). Murphy should be seen by a vet as soon as possible as x-rays are likely to be warranted to rule out any fractures and receive appropriate pain medication. Most towns/cities have an emergency veterinary clinic that is open 24 hours a day, so that may be necessary for Murphy. I hope this helps and that all is well!
