My cat was accidentally kicked in the stomach and vomited. Is he okay?

I’m sorry misty had a little accident. If she is acting normally, eating well, breathing comfortably, her gums are nice and pink and she doesn’t seem pain when you pick her up or lightly press on her belly and she is not limping , then I would just watch her very closely over the next 24 hours. If any of these signs develop you may want to consider having her evaluated at that point. Cats can be pretty amazing with falls sometimes!

Any pet vomiting beyond 24 hours should be examined by the veterinarian. Just like humans, there are many many causes of vomiting and some of the causes can be very serious. I'm unsure of the timeline of the vomiting for Sake. I always recommend to play it safe when in doubt and have Sake examined today. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Oh no, things sound not good at your house! Despite the fact that the situation is a bit gross, Gus is likely to be fine. Animals and people can share the same viruses but not commonly. And there are many ways he could get your kids virus besides eating the vomit. Cats definitely can get gastroenteritis, which just means inflammation of the stomach and intestines, from many things. I would just watch Gus. I hope everything gets better for you!

It could be from an upset stomach, and I can give you a home remedy for him to see if that helps. Withhold food tonight, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he refuses to eat the bland diet, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Oh no it's not good that Kitty ate that vomit! At most, I would expect that eating this vomit could cause some GI upset, causing her to vomit and/or have diarrhea. It's good that it doesn't look like she has eaten the plastic bag, and if she ate the bag, I would be concerned that the bag could cause a foreign body obstruction. Keep an eye on her for now, and if you see any vomiting or diarrhea, I can give you a home remedy to see if that helps her. Thanks for the additional information. The fact that is abdomen is not painful or distended is a good sign and hopefully he will start feeling better soon. If the vomiting continues than he will need to be examined by your vet. Forgot to mention in the other post that you should take a stool sample if you take him to the vet so it can be tested for parasites, especially if he goes outside. Some parasites can cause vomiting so it should be ruled out.
