Why is my cat isolated and not eating after a new kitten arrived?

It is possible that Pinga is exhibiting signs of stress in her home environment, but there are many things that you can do to help alleviate stress and help her feel better. Start by having Pinga seen by your veterinarian to help rule out medical causes for her behaviour. I would recommend trying to keep the kitten and older cat separated for now. Than slowly introducing them back to each other. I would make sure that the older cat has a litter box and food some place away from the kitten that way he will feel more comfortable eating. It is very important cats eat every day. There are a few things that you can do to try to decrease stress and make the transition as easy as possible for Boxer. This is a calming pheromone that will work for a month. It is concerning that Luna has had a change in behavior and has lost weight. While it can take time for a cat to adjust to a new member of a household, it's an extreme reaction to lose weight. I would be concerned that she may have an medical illness causing her change in behavior. Lethargy and anorexia are unfortunately very general signs of illness and can be caused by systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. I'd recommend a visit to the vet this weekend. The older cat probably has the smaller, younger one intimidated. I suggest providing more litter boxes, maybe one the smaller cat has exclusive access to. To avoid behavior problems due to territorialism, the rule of thumb is one litter box per cat, plus one, that way no cat can 'guard' all the boxes and limit access to the others. Make sure the timid cat has plenty of places to hide, perch, separate food and water sources if needed, anything to help her relax and be able to be less intimidated by the other. Also, make sure the older cats get plenty of attention, playtime, treats, to help them stay calmer and less likely to lash out. Calming diets are also available, if you have not tried them yet. Royal Canin and Science Diet both have well-received diets of this kind.  - Adding a litter box. Studies show that the ideal number of litter boxes for a home is #of cats +1 . This is regardless of how clean you keep his current litter box. 

- making sure she has plenty of “high space”. The safest (and therefore least anxiety-inducing) place for a cat is up. If you don’t already, get a cat tree or put up a shelf or two that she can go perch on. 
 Feeding them in separate rooms with two or three water bowls throughout the home is also a good idea as perceived competition for resources is a common problem in cats. Best of luck to you and your kitties!
