Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | 11 months and 8 days old
Hi there! I've recently noticed a change in my cat's behaviour and weight and I'm getting worried. We first noticed her change in behaviour when we got our kitten Louie. She got timid, quiet and will not play. Just yesterday, I noticed that she's gotten skinnier. I'm not sure if this is because we got Louie at a very young age and now he is growing or she is simply not eating. I would really like to know why Luna is behaving like this and what we can do to get her back to her old playful self.

Unexplained weight loss is a concern for a chronic (long-term) disease. This can be due to an infection like FeLV, organ failure, or cancer. It's also possible that there is a more innocent reason for her losing weight, but the fact that she's not as active is concerning that she has an illness causing these problems. I recommend having a vet evaluate her sometime soon. They can help to narrow-down the possibilities and may recommend specific tests to make a diagnosis. It's definitely worth having her seen soon, because she is likely feeling rather badly and the sooner the problem is diagnosed, the better the chance of her getting effective treatment.
I hope that helps and Luna gets better soon.
