My cat is hurt and in pain after being outside. No vet open, what now?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Egyptian Mau | Male | unneutered | 11 months and 22 days old | 5 lbs

My cat is having trouble breathing , incontinent of urine and appears to be in pain after being outside. Is there anything I can do to keep him comfortable? Cannot find a vet nearby that is open.

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach I would be very concerned that Neo has been hit by a car or attacked by another animal. Keep him in a cool, safe place. I would get him into a large crate if possible and minimize moving or handling until you can get to a vet. Do not give any otc pain meds as they are toxic to cats. Often vet clinics have an after hours emergency line so I would call your regular vet to see if they have an emergency service or where they refer emergencies to. Please get Neo to an Er
Clinic ASAP.
