My cat is hurt and can't move. How do I get emergency vet care?

Poor kitty! It does sound like he has suffered an injury, and it's quite serious that he isn't going to the bathroom, eating, or drinking. He sounds like he is very painful, and unfortunately he has to see a vet immediately. He will need pain meds, and you cannot give him any human ones. That's because many are toxic to cats, and are fatal if given. In order to treat him correctly, he has to be diagnose by a vet, and there truly isn't anything you can do for him at home. Attempting to self treat him without knowing the cause of his symptoms is never recommended, as you may accidentally do harm to him. I would see if you can find a friend to drive you into a vet now. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. Oh no poor guy. There isn't much you can do for him at home in such a dire situation as this. He needs medical care unfortunately. If your vet is closed then I would highly recommend taking him in to an ER vet who is available after hours and is readily available to take care of Shadow in such an emergency type situation as this. If he isn't able to move, then I too would be suspicous of a stroke event, a saddle thrombus (clot in the lower abdomen), a urinary blockage (especially if he is vocal and unable to urinate), or some other cardiac disorder. He need immediate veterinary attention if you are going to be able to help Shadow at this time. I would stop giving Vaalan food now because he likely will need to be sedated in order to treat his wounds as well as x-rays for his back. Give him plenty of water, keep him warm and quiet. Do not late him outdoors. Take him into a vet asap, as this is a medical emergency. Best of luck.

This could be as severe as a fracture or something more mild like a soft tissue injury. The fact that he is crying when the leg is manipulated indicates that he is quite painful requiring pain control medications at least. If he does have a fracture, he may actually require surgery. For this reason it is crucial that he is indeed evaluated by a veterinarian. You could consider taking him to your local humane society as often times they offer less expensive veterinary care. I would get him into a large crate if possible and minimize moving or handling until you can get to a vet. Do not give any otc pain meds as they are toxic to cats. Often vet clinics have an after hours emergency line so I would call your regular vet to see if they have an emergency service or where they refer emergencies to. Please get Neo to an Er Clinic ASAP.
