My cat's head lump popped, oozing green liquid. Should I see a vet?

This sounds like your cat had a cat bite abscess, If you can make sure all the green goop (pus) is evacuated. If you have a mild wound disinfectant at home you can flush the cavity. Make sure all the liquid is out. It should heal by itself, if not your kitty needs to be seen by a vet and will likely need prescription antibiotics.

This is an abscess and the white substance is puss. These are often caused by something under the skin that gets infected. It could be a thorn or from a bite. It's best if a vet examines this and explores the wound, because if the cause of the infection is not removed, then the infection will never clear. Sometimes these infections have potential to cause infections elsewhere, or can get worse, so a vet may need to prescribe medication to prevent this. That is very oddly discolored gunk for sure. I would certainly clip (if you're able) around the area to see if it looks infected or can be kept clean at home (clean washcloth, Elizabethan collar to prevent pawing at or licking it, keeping the area trimmed and dry). If Gremlin won't let you look at it or clean it properly, more discharge is coming from it, or it's very large/rapidly changing in size, a vet visit is a good idea. They can safely clip back any hair to make sure there aren't other pockets of infection, can clean the area, and may suggest taking samples if they suspect something more than a clogged pore or minor abscess.

The mass may need to be removed or treated with antibiotics. Your veterinarian may also take a sample of the mass to determine what it is and if it needs to be removed. Oh my. This appears to possibly be an injury to the eye and subsequent infection. It is hard to tell the degree of injury based on the photos, a vet exam is definitely needed her. I would highly recommend taking Mow to your local vet right away to get this eye tested, fully examined and treated. Best case scenario is that there isn't permanent damage done to this eye and antibiotics/pain medication /- drainage of a potential abscess are needed to get Mow better. The area on Leah definitely looks pretty angry and infected. Here's what I would recommend doing. You can either go to the vet and let them take care of this for you, or you can try the following first on your own if he'll let you: -Clip the hair on and around the affected lesion -Scrub the lesion with dilute betadine or chlorhexidine solution repeatedly to disinfect the region. Do not use peroxide as it will delay the healing process -Obtain topical ointments such as triple antibiotic and something with a steroid to help address the itchiness and inflammation -Obtain an e-collar (Cone) to help prevent any additional self-inflicted trauma that Shadow will try to cause -If matters do not seem to be heading in the right direction within the next couple days, seek veterinary attention. If at any time things are worsening, do not hesitate to go sooner. Hope this helps. And while I can't be sure, I don't think you need to fear that Shadow is going to die! Poor Munchkin! I'm sorry to hear that he's having this problem. Without being able to examine him, or at least see a photo of the area, it's hard to say what this might be and whether it is healing appropriately or not. From your description, it sounds like it could be a ruptured cyst or skin tumor of some kind, or possibly a rather nasty localized infection. It sounds like you have been doing a good job of keeping the area clean. I wouldn't consider this problem to be urgent as long as he is acting normal otherwise, but I would recommend taking Munchkin to your regular vet tomorrow to have this checked. He/she can examine the area to determine if additional treatment is needed, to make sure that it heals without further problems.
