My kitten had Giardia. Is her vomiting and diarrhea a sign it's back?

Poor kittens! If they've been sick for three days with no improvement, and you've already dewormed them with Panacur, I would definitely recommend a vet visit at this point. They may have something more serious such as feline leukemia or panleukopenia, which your veterinarian can test for. At the very least, it sounds like they will need fluids and medication to control the vomiting and diarrhea since it isn't resolving on its own.

Congrats on your new cat, but I'm sorry Hana isn't doing well! It is concerning that she is experiencing both vomiting and diarrhea, and it could be caused by a change in diet, intestinal worms, a GI illness, or a foreign body among other things. The Drontal can also cause some GI upset as well. I do think it's a good idea that Hana is seen by a vet since she is experiencing both vomiting and diarrhea, and I would see if your vet can see her tomorrow along with your other cat. Hold off on the cat probiotics for now since she is vomiting, and talk to the vet to see if they feel they will be helpful to her. I would withhold food for tonight, she can have water, and then give her some boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts in the morning to see if she can keep that down. It's not uncommon to see vomiting/diarrhea from a cat from a shelter. Pogba could have a mild G.I. infection was something like G.I. parasites or a bacteria. It also could be due to recent diet change. The sneezing could also indicate a mild upper respiratory tract infection. If any of those signs continue I recommend Pogba get looked at by a veterinarian to make sure nothing more serious is going on and that no medication as needed. However if Pogba stays bright and alert, is eating and drinking and the diarrhea resolves as well as the vomiting it should be OK to monitor him at home.

If Mochi truly had Panleukopenia Virus this spring, then it is extremely unlikely he would ever get it again. However, that doesn't mean he couldn't get some other virus or bacteria that could cause vomiting and diarrhea. If you changed his diet before the vomiting and diarrhea started, then it may be the food switch. You may have changed foods too suddenly and caused an upset stomach, or Mochi may have a dietary intolerance of food allergy to the new food. Other possible causes for diarrhea and vomiting include stress colitis, IBD, GI blockage, intestinal parasites, among a few other things. If the vomiting and diarrhea persist for longer than 24 hours, or if Mochi develops a poor appetite or lethargy, then he should be evaluated by a veterinarian.

I would be concerned that gizmo could have parasites. Sometimes parasites will cause diarrhea is younger animals. I would recommend taking them to a vet to have a good physical exam and a fecal sample to be examined. That way if she does have parasites the vet can give proper medications. Hope that helps

It sounds as Oliver is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

It's likely an infection that is causing this. Kittens commonly get gastrointestinal infections at this age and he may have picked it up from the place where he was adopted (incubation periods can be up to two weeks). The fact that he recently got dewormed is coincidental, but I wouldn't be concerned about this being related to the deworming medication. Considering he is lethargic and has vomiting/diarrhea, it's best to have him seen by a vet again. Kittens can quickly become dehydrated with this condition and will likely need some treatment to make him feel better again. For now, it's best to feed a bland diet of boiled chicken. Feed only a little at a time and ensure he has plenty of water available. It will also be helpful to add pedialyte to the water. I hope that helps and Ringo gets better soon.
