What's the best cat-friendly mosquito repellent for my indoor cat?

Frontline is very safe and well tolerated in cats. So is Advantage Multi- not Advantix- but Advantage Multi- (which also protects your cat against heart-worm disease and intestinal parasites as well)- these products are very safe for cats and they do very well for fleas and a little for ticks. Frontline does not not work for mosquitoes or no see ums. For that you need a product like a Seresto collar- whenever you get into these products the safety is a little less but Seresto is very safe and pretty well tolerated by most casts. It is not like the old flea collar that had Amitraz (those are NOT safe!). I would suggest a Seresto collar and an oral Feline Heartgard chew or topical Advanatge Multi for your cat (combo of both). But you should check with your vet for more info for your particular cat.

Revolution is a prescription medication that will repel mosquitoes. You can also find repellant ointments at the pet store that will help, though you can’t place them on the nose. I am concerned that it looks like there may be infection, and I would recommend that you have Bella checked out by a vet.

Did you ever use for yourself any homemade mosquito repellent that actually worked? if i have to guess the honest answer will be no, because there are non, and this is exactly the same for dogs. one good product that repels mosquitos in dogs is called K9 Advantix II, it is also a preventive for fleas and ticks.

Clove and peppermint only annoy your cats' and dogs' sence of smell. Since they have a much more keen sense of smell these aromas are overpowering to them. Fleas do not get repelled by peppermint and clove. I would not use it near my pets. The best way to get rid of fleas is as follows: Unfortunately fleas only hop on the body of your pet when they want to feed, then they hop off again and stay in your pet's environment. So you need to treat all pets in the household as well as the environment (which contains the fleas, their eggs and larvae). Flea treatment:  1) Get some flea medication such as a Flea spray or a spot on from a pet shop or your veterinarian and apply monthly 2) get flea powder, put some in your vacuum cleaner bag and vacuum your house and furniture and also non-carpeted areas frequently to remove flea larvae and eggs which live off house dust., Dispose of the bag in the trash outside. Hot-wash all the pet's bedding, If you do this diligently for a few months you will get rid of the fleas. Between them, these three substances kill adult fleas and stop the development of eggs and larvae of fleas and house dust mites. However, as permethrin is toxic to cats, I would not use it regularly and certainly would not leave the cats in the house while spraying it.

Hi I would suggest you buy a box of 6 pipettes of Revolution. Make sure you apply one pipette on each cat to the skin to the back of their neck, so it’s important you part hair when applying it. You need to repeat it every month. I would also suggest you spray the environment to kill all eggs and larvae present. Hello. I would be very hesitant to recommend any product containing essential oils be used on dogs, but if a very light wipe was used, avoiding any areas easily reached by the dog licking, then occasional use should be fine. Cats that are sensitive to topical flea treatments usually do OK with a flea collar. Not any old flea collar, specifically the Seresto Collar. I suggest you try it. One collar lasts 8 months and we have had really great success with using them. It is also the cheapest considering it lasts 8 months.
