Why did my pet get a fever from their second vaccine, not the first?

Sometimes vaccination reactions can cause the symptoms you are seeing so it would be advisable to have her looked at so the reaction does not progress. If she continues to tremble, develops vomiting, or becomes lethargic then she should be seen by your veterinarian back immediately. While this may be a reaction to the vaccines, I would not recommend that you give her Benadryl without having her physically evaluated by a veterinarian. It could be an allergy to something else or she may need a stronger medication like steroids to treat the initial allergic reaction. Sometimes antihistamines are not enough to control the reaction. Vaccines can cause a mild fever that does not require treatment for up to 24 hours. The schedule for boostering the vaccine varies as well depending on the type of vaccine used - most likely the next vaccine is due at one year of age but it’s possible that a booster is needed sooner so you should ask your vet. The FVRCP vaccine is the other core vaccine for cats, and if Minu will be going outdoors or be in contact with other cats the FeLV vaccine is recommended.

If it has been longer than this, it is likely unrelated to the vaccines that a good reason to have Saski evaluated by your veterinarian to ensure that there is not something else going on. Good luck!
